Scemblix 40mg

Scemblix (asciminib) 40 mg film-coated tablets. Pack of 60 tablets. Novartis. Indications: Scemblix contains the active substance asciminib, which belongs to a group of medicines called protein kinase inhibitors. It is a cancer medicine used to treat adults with a type of blood cancer (leukemia) called Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia in chronic phase (Ph+ CML-CP). It is given to patients who have been treated previously with two or more medicines for treating cancer, called tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Contraindications: Do not use Scemblix if you are allergic to asciminib or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Warnings and precautions: Before using Scemblix, tell your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following applies to you: if you have or have had severe pain in the upper part of your stomach which may be caused by problems with your pancreas (inflamed pancreas, pancreatitis); if you have ever had or may currently have hepatitis B virus infection as Scemblix could reactivate hepatitis B. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility: If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine. Pregnancy: Scemblix may harm your unborn baby. If you are a woman who can become pregnant, your doctor will discuss with you the potential risks of taking it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are a woman who can become pregnant, your doctor may perform a pregnancy test before you start treatment with Scemblix. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant after starting treatment with Scemblix, tell your doctor immediately. Driving and using machines: This medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines. If you experience adverse reactions (such as dizziness or visual disturbances) with a possible impact on your ability to drive or use any tools or machinery safely after taking the medicine, you should refrain from these activities until the effect of the medicine has worn off. Administration: Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is 1 tablet of Scemblix 40 mg twice daily. Take 1 tablet, then take the other approximately 12 hours later. Composition: The active substance is asciminib. Each 40 mg film-coated tablet contains asciminib hydrochloride equivalent to 40 mg asciminib. 20 mg and 40 mg film-coated tablets: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose (E460i), hydroxypropylcellulose (E463), croscarmellose sodium (E468), polyvinyl alcohol (E1203), titanium dioxide (E171), magnesium stearate, talc (E553b), colloidal silicon dioxide, lecithin (E322), xanthan gum (E415), iron oxide red (E172). Only 40 mg film-coated tablets: iron oxide black (E172). Presentation: 60 film-coated tablets.
